Therapy is a great option when: The past has left you with pain that leaks into your present, and you’re ready to process what happened so you can move forward. Therapy is also a great fit for improving healthy communication, breaking out of harmful patterns, and finding peace with issues that have haunted you for too long.

Unearth the stories from your past causing pain in your present. Traditional therapy excels at finding where those stories came from, why they’re there, and how they served you in the past. When we find the root story, we can start to uproot it.

What to expect in your first few sessions

In the first 1-3 sessions, we’re assessing whether we’re a good fit and you’ll be sharing some of your history, your family dynamics, and what’s on your mind now. The better I can understand you and what experiences and relationships have influenced you, the better I can support you in what you want to work on, or work towards. 

Sessions are 50 minutes, in person or virtual. My office is in Old Town Pasadena, California.

While I do have a standard session rate, I’ll collaborate with you to find a rate that feels comfortable and affordable for your budget. I accept Zelle payments, cash, or check. I am not in-network with any insurance companies, but I am able to provide a superbill for potential reimbursement from your provider.

Deconstructing Evangelical Christianity & Religious Trauma

Faith is incredibly personal but the reasons we buy into it are pretty similar across the board. We want benevolent authority, safety, direction. We want something bigger than us that will show us the way, in love. If you are coming from a religious community where you felt known, held, and guided, then somehow the security fell apart, I can help you navigate the uncertain terrain ahead. You might feel too liberal for your conservative friends and too conservative for your liberal friends. I’ve been there. But you can connect to your sense of wholeness and enjoy life again with a new perspective. Conscious Couples Communication & Conscious Uncoupling

You’ve reached a DECISION point in your relationship, a fork in the road, a big life change, and the communication around it seems to have broken down or is going in circles. You’ve both gone to therapy at some point, and you have a fairly good relationship, but you need someone to help surface what truly matters to each of you so you can see if an agreement that meets everyone’s needs is possible, and collaborate on a solution together.

Codependence

Codependence can show up in unexpected ways, because when you suppress your emotions and needs, it can look like resentment, anger flare ups, hopelessness, addiction, over-eating, auto-immune issues, texting them multiple times a day, wondering what they’re thinking and feeling constantly, replaying conversations over and over, asking your friends what they think the other person meant/thought/felt. Sometimes it feels like you don’t know what you want or need, but you want to know what they want and need. You may have difficulty making decisions without asking for everyone else’s input. You’re here because you’ve realized there’s a pattern — and you want to know why you’re finding yourself in this cycle over and over again.

Near Death Experience Processing

It can be hard to talk about a NDE — loved ones may not understand, and having an uncommon experience is inherently isolating. You’re not only dealing with the physical and emotional recovery from the event, you’re also re-living your experience of the other side. You might be questioning your sanity, or your purpose here on earth (why was I sent back?). Therapy can help you process trauma, lift out of depression, develop meaningful connections, and find a sense of purpose.

EMDR for relationship trauma, ruminating or anxiety after a traumatic event, dispelling negative or self-critical thought patterns.
